circa 1862, with octagonal 8in. barrel signed 'PATENTED SEPT 14 1858, E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION NEW YORK USA, NEW-MODEL', pinched blade fore-sight, sighting groove to top-strap, plain cylinder with safety notches to rear, solid frame with two action screws, smooth walnut grips with rounded tops (small crack to right hand example) brass trigger-guard bow and articulated under-barrel loading lever, traces of original blued finish
